This week, the boys and I have really been starting to get into the festive spirit.
On Monday, we spent the entire day in our PJs, watching Christmas movies, drinking hot chocolate with whipped cream, creating festive pictures and making and decorating these no-bake Nutella doughnuts.
The second we spied these Reindeer doughnuts online, we were desperate to make them. And the boys had such fun decorating these doughnuts with mini marshmallow eyes, pretzel antlers and Smartie noses!
Of course, smarties, pretzels and marshmallows aren’t the healthiest of foods. But, you know…it’s Christmas!
You could decorate any doughnut you fancied like this, but we all wanted the perfect, simple no-bake recipe to get them started.
After a bit of thinking, we came up with these no-bake Nutella doughnuts (Nutella is a firm favourite in this house!) – and they are utterly delicious! Created using hazelnut meal, cacao and dates, they’re also free from refined sugars and any nasties.
They also happen to make perfect energy balls if you don’t fancy making doughnuts! We had a few leftovers, which were happily devoured this way.
Anyway…merry Christmas, all!
